Among the handful of states that played an outsized role in the history of our country, Virginia stands prominently among the 13 original colonies.  Our journeys to Arlington, Mount Vernon, Monticello, and Appomattox offered profound insights into the founding of our nation, woven through the lives of Presidents Washington and Jefferson. These experiences also deepened our understanding of the struggles faced in pivotal wars like the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. The sacrifices made by countless individuals for our freedom in the United States of America can never be forgotten, which is why the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington Cemetery is so profound.
