A spontaneous decision led me and Jackson to Santa Fe for business in the Governor's office. After completing our tasks at the Capitol, we set out for Sandia Peak. Ascending one of America's most breathtaking urban peaks from bustling Albuquerque, we reached the 10,378-foot crest of the Sandia Mountains, treated to an expansive 11,000 square mile panoramic view—a swift elevation of the body, mind, and soul in just 15 minutes. A satisfying meal capped off our day before we returned to California.
