House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik endorses Scott Baugh in CA 47

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – – Today, House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik announced her endorsement for Scott Baugh for Congress in California’s 47th District. She joins House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the California Republican Party and numerous other GOP leaders in issuing a pre-primary endorsement for Baugh.

“I am proud to endorse Scott Baugh for California’s 47th Congressional District. The Biden Administration and the radical Far Left’s policies have catastrophically failed hardworking American families. Now more than ever, we need leaders like Scott to help get our country back on track. I look forward to serving with him in Congress to continue to deliver real results for the American people,” said Congresswoman Stefanik.

Scott Baugh is running in the open CA47, expected to be one of the top targets in the nation for both parties in 2024. In spite of being outspent by over $20 million, Baugh came within 2 points of defeating incumbent Katie Porter in 2022. The coastal district includes the cities of Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine and portions of Laguna Hills.

“I am honored to receive this pre-primary endorsement from one of our leaders in Congress, House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik. I look forward to working with Congresswoman Stefanik for common-sense policies that protect taxpayers, rebuild our economy, protect our border and get America back on the right track,” said Baugh.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress in United States history.

Scott Baugh is the former Chairman of the Orange County Republican Party and former Assembly Republican Leader. He is a trustee at Pacifica Christian High School of Orange County. Scott and his wife Wendy live in Huntington Beach. He has lived in the district for over 30 years.
